Ferocious and compassionate, A Prophet follows the descent of a young man into the hierarchies of the criminal underworld. Sentenced to six years in prison, nineteen-year-old French-Arab Malik El Djebena (Rahim) is approached by the leader of a Corsican gang, Cesar Luciani (Niels Arestrup), who operates their criminal activities from inside his cell. After a violent initiation, Malik is forced to adapt to the rules of the clashing criminal factions within the prison. However, over a period of time, he steadily builds up a power structure of his own.
