We are pleased to welcome director Reha Erdem to Renoir Cinema for a post-screening Q&A after the 6:15PM performance on Friday 29 August.
In a small, poor village isolated by high mountains, facing the immense sea and flanked by olive yards, the inhabitants are simple but diligent people who struggle to cope with the harsh realities of life. They are keenly aware of the fleeting nature of their existence and a sober resignation prevails. Young Ömer, the son of the imam, wishes for the death of his father. When he sees that wishful thinking does not have any concrete results, he begins to search for childish ways to kill his father and shares his guilty thoughts with his friend Yakup… A beautifully observed film about the oscillation between childhood and adulthood, TIMES AND WINDS also speaks eloquently of the traditions of rural life.
We are delighted to welcome director Reha Erdem to talk about his new film Times and Winds with critic Jonathan Romney after the opening night screening at 6.15pm at Renoir Cinema.
With thanks to Artificial Eye.
