Duration:

Year:
2009

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution, and as part of the ‘Permanent Revolution Season’ taking place across London, Curzon Cinemas will bring you the full four-hour epic Che: Part One and Two. With live Cuban music and cocktails in the bar between the films at Curzon Soho only, what a better way to start your New Year’s Revolution?

A labour of love for Academy Award-winning director, Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven) Che features a career defining performance from Benicio del Toro (Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2008) in the role of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara. Released in two parts, Che Part One chronicles Guevara’s rise from humble doctor to a rebel Army Commander in Fidel Castro’s Cuban Revolution. Che Part Two gives an account of his later life. Having successfully overthrown Batista, he attempts to export his revolutionary ideals across Latin America. Embraced by his commrades for his strength in the face of adversity, Part Two reveals the human being behind the symbol.

Curzon Soho will also be displaying an exhibition of Che-related artwork from the novel ‘Che: A Graphic Biography’, published by Verso Books.

Che Part One is released on January 1 followed by Che Part Two on February 20.
