Sandrine and her seven year old Amanda live in Paris, near her kid brother David (Sorry Angel's Vincent Lacoste) who helps her occasionally with baby-sitting. But after tragedy strikes, David becomes Amanda's guardian, trying to resolve an entirely new reality with major new responsibilities.

Despite the film's dramatic events, we never lose sight of the small intimacies of the relationship between uncle and niece, with newcomer Isaure Multrier bringing truly affecting depth to her role.

Featuring two incredibly affecting performances, pivoting between joy and grief at a moment's notice, this is superb, quietly devastating cinema that shows the life that continues once the headlines have faded.
