BAFTA Lecture Series: Noah Baumbach

BAFTA Lecture Series: Noah Baumbach

Taking place at Curzon cinemas in Mayfair and Soho, 2019 is the tenth year of BAFTAs annual series. The Screenwriters' Lecture Series exists to celebrate screenwriters’ authorial contribution to film and gives esteemed writers a platform to share highlights and insights from their careers with an audience of film-lovers and their peers.

Noah Baumbach, both in his eleven features and as a co-writer on Wes Anderson's projects, has a sharp ear for the everyday cruelties that pass between those who are intimate.

Having broached increasingly personal material with his parents' divorce breakthrough The Squid & The Whale, 2019's Marriage Story returns to the nakedly confessional, mining his own experiences of marital break-up.

Created by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Jeremy Brock, the series is supported by JJ Charitable Trust.
