Just when you think it's safe to develop a computer consciousness that is self-aware, along comes another Terminator to remind you it's probably not for the best. In Dark Fate, a terrifying liquid metal Terminator is sent back by Skynet to destroy Dani - a teenage girl who has a pivotal role in humanity's future - and a hybrid cyborg. They must enlist Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton, returning for the first time since Terminator 2) and the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help fight off this new threat and save civilisation from another AI-enhanced apocalypse.
This instalment of the Terminator series has the backing James Cameron as producer, and the skills of Deadpool director Tim Miller behind the camera. As well as reuniting the original cast (including T2's Edward Furlong), this has epic set pieces and the grounding of a classic plot to keep things on track.
