This stunning debut feature from Mati Diop (35 Shots of Rum) won Best Debut at London Film Festival, and the Grand Prix in Cannes. There are limited opportunities (courtesy of Birds’ Eye View’s Reclaim The Frame project and Curzon) to see this thought-provoking and stylish film on the big screen complimented by a short recorded interview with the filmmaker Diop herself.
Followed by a talk with Kaleem Aftab (critic at The Independent) relating to the theme of the film and a live poetic response to the movie by award winning poet Be Manzini who also runs Caramel Film Club. Mia Bays the Oscar-winning producer who runs Birds’ Eye View will be there to host.
