RFF 2019: Infinite Football

RFF 2019: Infinite Football

Romanian Film Festival UK premiere

Followed by Q&A with director Corneliu Porumboiu.

What if everything we knew about football was wrong and the beautiful game could be made even more beautiful?

Over the course of this feature-length documentary Laurentiu Ginghina explains to his friend Corneliu Porumboiu (director of 12:08 East of Bucharest and The Whistlers) his theories of the evolution of the beautiful game from 'football 2.0' to 'football 2.1', and beyond, to infinity.

By day a local bureaucrat, Ginghina likens his double-life to that of the secret identity of a superhero, dedicating his time outside of work to his thoerising of bringing football forward, including dividing the pitch into smaller zones.
