Emma.

Emma.

Jane Austen's classic is adapted once again for the screen, by the Booker Prize-winning novelist of The Luminaries, Eleanor Catton.

Austen herself said of her main character, "I am going to take a heroine whom no one but myself will much like". But with Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Thoroughbreds) taking the lead, the film is nevertheless a humorous portrait of friendship, family and romance.

Austen's enduring and beloved comedy is about finding your equal and earning your happy ending, it's a glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up. Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.
