Dunkirk

Dunkirk

Christopher Nolan’s (Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight) first film based on historical events is a sweeping account of the 10 days in 1940 when hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops found themselves trapped on the beaches in and around the coastal town of Dunkirk, following their defeat at the hands on an invading German force.

A breathtaking and moving drama, Dunkirk recounts the devastation wreaked by German forces – particularly the air divisions – and the bravery of the civilians who sailed across the English Channel to bring the soldiers home to safety.

Post-screening Q&A: Military historians Dr. Edward Smalley and Dr. Timothy Bowman joins us for a talk and Q&A following the film. Saturday 22 July 6.00pm, Curzon Canterbury.
